A little about me

First, let me say "thank you" for choosing the EDA English Lab.  I am so happy to have you as a student.  I am eager to get to know you and learn how I can help you meet your English learning needs.

My qualifications for teaching include a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from Radford University in Communication Sciences and a Master's Degree (M.A.) from Virginia Tech. for teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).  I've completed several years of volunteer work with an International English Conversation group in Blacksburg (at Squires).  I've completed 2 semesters of volunteer work teaching English as a Second Language with an organization called Pilot Street, in Roanoke.  Currently, I tutor students of all ages in ESL meeting their wide variety of English level needs.  As well, I am approaching my 5th year as a substitute teacher with Montgomery County Schools system.

On a personal note: I am happily married to a wonderful man, Stephen.  I do not have any human children but I have a wonderful family of pets.  See the photo page for their darling pictures!

My hobbies include teaching knit and crochet classes, swimming at Blacksburg Aquatic Center, and playing tennis when I can find an opponent.

I look forward to seeing you in one or more of the English classes that will be available through out each year.

Take care,  Carla
